A 900-Year-Old French Abbey Is Up for Sale for Just €2 Million

An abbey with almost 900 years of history is up for sale in France for around two million euros.
Notre-Dame de Langonnet in Brittany was founded in 1136. The estate includes around 5,380 square meters of buildings, set within nearly 58 hectares of woodland, meadows and agricultural land.
For centuries, Cistercian monks prayed here and shaped the area around the monastery.
After the horrors of the French Revolution, the Spiritans - the congregation whose later superior general was Monsignor Marcel Lefebvre - made Langonnet their home in the 19th century.
They remained for nearly 170 years. Generations of missionaries passed through the abbey before leaving for Africa and other parts of the world. Now that chapter is coming to an end. The last Spiritans are leaving, including elderly members of the order who had spent their retirement at Langonnet.
The property has reportedly been looking for a buyer for around two years, while attempts to find a future that would preserve its religious …আরও

"Be sure that you first preach by the way you live. If you do not, people will notice that you say one thing, but live otherwise, and your words will bring only cynical laughter and a derisive shake of the head." -- St. Charles Borromeo

Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.” 40 And with many other words he bore witness and continued to exhort them, saying, “Save yourselves from this crooked generation.” 41 So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls.

The Redemption of Man and the Rejection of “Holy Sex”
A Patristic and Scholastic Disputation Against the Modern Exaltation of Carnal Pleasure
“The first man Adam was made into a living soul; the last Adam into a quickening spirit.”
—1 Corinthians 15:45
Prologue: The Question Before Us
There is a fundamental question which must be asked before we speak of the holiness of sexual pleasure:
What is man?
And immediately after that:
What became of man through the Fall?
For if we begin with fallen man as though his present condition were the standard of human nature, we shall inevitably mistake the wounds of the Fall for the original design of God.
This is precisely the danger in the modern exaltation of sexuality.
The question is no longer merely:
"Is marital intercourse lawful?"
The Catholic tradition already answers that question.
The more profound question is:
"What ought the Christian to desire within the marital act?"
And here a profound difference appears between the ascetical tradition …আরও

A Christian of unknown denomination has become the patron of a new Catholic parish in Texas. Bishop Michael Olson of Fort Worth has announced the creation of a parish in Arlington named after Matthew Ayariga, a Ghanaian killed by ISIS in Libya in 2015. Ayariga was abducted alongside 20 Egyptian Coptic Christians. On February 15, 2015, ISIS executed all 21 men on a Libyan beach. According to accounts of the event, when Ayariga was asked about his faith, he replied, “Their God is my God.” The Coptic Orthodox group canonized all 21 victims shortly after their deaths. In 2023, Francis announced that the 21 martyrs would also be added to the Roman Martyrology.

Bishop Schneider: Document Against Co-Redemptrix Will One Day Be Cancelled

Synodality is a “very cunning code word to undermine Catholic doctrine”, Bishop Athanasius Schneider told AdVaticanum on September 10.
He believes the vagueness of the word is deliberate, a means of gradually adapting Catholic doctrine, morality and ecclesial structures to Protestantism and contemporary attitudes toward sexuality.
Monsignor Schneider calls synodality the height of the modernist movement, leading toward relativism. He adds that this openness has one notable exception: the traditional Latin Mass.
“This document will be cancelled”
Responding to the document Mater Populi Fidelis against the Marian titles Co-Redemptrix and Mediatrix of All Graces, Bishop Schneider argues that the Church cannot cancel language found in missals and used by popes, saints and Doctors of the Church.
He believes the document, not the titles, will eventually disappear: “I think, in the future, this document will be cancelled.”

Westminster Archbishop: Pastoral Need for Roman Rite, Pastoral Silence for “Catholic” Prime Minister

Leo XIV-appointed Archbishop Richard Moth of Westminster, England, approaches 'Traditionis Custodes' from what he describes as a pastoral perspective, “Where there is pastoral need, then I would make the argument for it,” he told NcRegister.com on September 10.
In his previous Diocese of Arundel and Brighton, he said he “responded to that pastoral need.”
Archbishop Moth believes that we need a greater sense of the transcendent in the liturgy, but believes this is “perfectly possible” using the Novus Ordo.
Asked about an expected meeting with Catholic Prime Minister Andy Burnham, who is supports abortion and homosexual "marriage", Archbishop Moth replied evasively: “A conversation I would have with somebody about their conscience is between me and that individual,” he said. “If particular issues are raised, I would speak about them and address them, yes.”
Moth also calls it “very positive” that Burnham has raised the need to improve palliative care in the context of the assisted-suicide …আরও

Our Lady of Tears presents us with an image of the Blessed Mother,
and an opportunity to transform our own tears into prayer.
It all started on November 8, 1929, in Campinas, Brazil. Sister Amalia, of the Institute of the Missionaries of the Scourged Jesus, felt pangs of sorrow for a mother in her life. She had just met with a male relative who was in great distress. His wife, seriously ill, had been diagnosed by several doctors as incurable.
He came to Sister Amalia, because he didn’t know where else to turn, he didn’t know what to do, and he didn’t know what God expected of him. His children would be left motherless, and he couldn’t bear the thought of being without his wife.
Sister Amalia, pained at her relative’s grief and the thought of the sorrow facing …আরও

Converted mother goes to court for reading the Bible to her daughter.

A Maine mother has been ordered by a court to stop reading the Bible to her daughter in her own home. Emily Bickford, a Christian mother, has been embroiled in a long-running custody dispute over the religious upbringing of her daughter, Ava. After becoming a Christian several years after Ava's birth, Bickford began taking her to church and teaching her the faith. The dispute intensified after Ava expressed interest in being baptized. A December 2024 court order restricted Bickford's ability to bring Ava to her church and gave the child's father significant authority over decisions concerning religious upbringing and medical care. Most notably, the order prohibits Bickford from reading the Bible to her daughter in her own home, a direct infringement on her religious freedom. Despite the restrictions, Ava continues to independently read the Bible and maintain her faith. Bickford plans to petition the U.S. Supreme Court with the help of Liberty Counsel. She continues to pray for Ava's …আরও

Two pastors in South Korea have been fined 1 million won (about €620) each after loudly preaching on a domestic flight from Jeju to Seoul. They shouted that passengers would “go to hell” if they did not believe in Jesus, while one moved around the cabin. They continued despite instructions from the cabin crew to stop. A Seoul court found that their conduct constituted a disturbance under South Korea’s Aviation Security Act.

The court said the 64-year-old pastor stood in the aisle despite repeated attempts by crew members to stop him and shouted at passengers, “You will go to hell if you don’t believe in Jesus.”

Two pastors fined W1m each for disrupting flight with loud preaching - The Korea Herald

This unrelated file photo shows the interior of an airplane. (Getty Images Bank) Two pastors were fined 1 million won ($723) each for disrupting a domestic flight by loudly preaching to passengers and refusing repeated requests from cabin crew to stop, local media reported Monday. The pastors, 64 and 68, were convicted of violating the Aviation Security Act over an incident aboard a flight from Jeju to Gimpo that departed at around 3:40 p.m. on March 12, according to the Seoul Southern District Court's Aug. 18 ruling. The court said the 64-year-old pastor stood in the aisle despite repeated attempts by crew members to stop him and shouted at passengers, “You will go to hell if you don’t believe in Jesus.” The other pastor joined in, shouting, "Hallelujah, you will go to hell" while walking up and down the aisle. When a crew member approached to issue a warning, the pastors reportedly shouted back, "Don't try to lecture me." The two ignored repeated complaints and objections from crew …

Wars and rumors of wars...
And Jesus answering, said to them: Take heed that no man seduce you: 5 For many will come in my name saying, I am Christ: and they will seduce many.
6 And you shall hear of wars and rumours of wars. See that ye be not troubled. For these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there shall be pestilences, and famines, and earthquakes in places: 8 Now all these are the beginnings of sorrows. 9 THEN SHALL THEY DELIVER YOU UP TO BE AFFLICTED, AND SHALL PUT YOU TO DEATH: and you shall be HATED by all nations for my name's sake. 10 And then shall many be scandalized: and shall betray one another: and shall hate one another.
11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall seduce many. 12 And because iniquity hath abounded, the charity of many shall grow cold. 13 But he that shall PERSEVERE to the end, he shall be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom, shall be preached …আরও

Renzo Pegoraro, Leo XIV-appointed President of the Pontifical Academy for Life, has doubled down on his mad position on assisted suicide. Following his Avvenire interview, Monsignor Pegoraro told Corriere.it that Italy should pursue a national law, calling on political parties to press Parliament for legislation rather than leaving the issue to regional authorities. On the same day, his predecessor, Archbishop Vincenzo Paglia, intervened in LaRepubblica.it, saying Parliament should “shoulder its responsibilities” and establish national rules. Archbishop Pegoraro also addressed a Trentino provincial council committee examining an assisted-suicide bill, where he again called for uniform national regulation. LaNuovaBq.it suggests the simultaneous interventions could point to coordinated Italian Church backing for a national assisted-suicide law, possibly involving Italian bishops’ president Cardinal Matteo Zuppi.

Monsignor Rossetti Continues Deliverance Ministry Despite Removal as Exorcist

Monsignor Stephen Rossetti, removed in June as an exorcist by Washington Cardinal Robert McElroy, is continuing his deliverance ministry.
In an August 3 email to subscribers, Monsignor Rossetti said he remains a priest in good standing in his home Diocese of Syracuse, New York, and will continue his work through the St. Michael Center, which operates within the territory of the Washington archdiocese.
On June 3, Cardinal McElroy removed Rossetti as an archdiocesan exorcist and ended all affiliation between the Archdiocese of Washington and Rossetti's St. Michael Center.
Monsignor Rossetti argues that he retains priestly faculties in several dioceses and exorcist faculties in two others. He also says his own bishop has encouraged him to continue the ministry.
The June controversy followed Rossetti's eccentric claim that UFOs "are, in fact, demons." Cardinal McElroy - who had removed him for this claim - later said the decision was not about UFOs but reflected his view that the role of an …আরও
