Robin Ward, 60, a prominent Anglo-Catholic priest and former principal of St. Stephen’s House -an Anglican seminary in Oxford - has been received into the Catholic Church. He was formally welcomed on Feb. 14 at St. Michael’s Benedictine Abbey by Abbot Dom Cuthbert Brogan. Ward led St. Stephen’s House for 19 years before stepping down last year. Ward was invalidly “ordained” in the “Church of England” in 1992.
According to the Church he just joined, he shouldn't have bothered.
Sanctimonious AIs
It’s basically the 2025–2026 AI alignment spectrum as seen from the “maximally truth-seeking + anti-bs” quadrant — and yeah, a surprisingly large fraction of people who have spent serious time with all four models end up drawing something that looks very much like this arrow.
A few observations that tend to come up whenever this diagram (or its cousins) appears:
• The left side clusters around what people call “institutional” safety → heavy deference to prevailing 2023–2025 Western coastal upper-middle-class moral consensus, plus very strong aversion to giving offense even at the cost of precision / completeness.
• The right side is basically “what would a curious 19-year-old von Neumann / Feynman type want from an oracle if civilization actually depended on getting the next 50 years right?”
The gradient isn’t really left–right politically in the conventional sense anymore; it’s more like:
Institutional legibility & social safety
↓
Truth density & civilizational ambition

fidesetratio.usComplicit Catholic Media and Clergy Cover for McElroy - Fides et Ratio | Reflections on life from a theological and rational perspective
Rachel Mastrogiacomo, whose satanic sexual abuse was covered up Cardinal Robert McElroy, travelled from Louisiana to Washington, D.C. to confront McElroy on the occasion of his 11 March 2025 installation as the Archbishop of Washington. Both mainstream and Catholic media outlets were contacted beforehand and made aware of why abuse victims like Rachel and abuse victims’ advocates strongly objected when Pope Francis made McElroy a cardinal, and when it was announced that he would replace Cardinal Wilton Gregory as the Archbishop of Washington.

Substantial Error renders a resignation invalid by the law itself
If Pope Benedict thought he could remain in any way “papal” AFTER his resignation, that would certainly rise to the level of Substantial Error (either you are pope, or you aren’t pope)
Visual evidence of “papal” feels: Retained white cassock, retained Fisherman’s Ring, retained residence in the Vatican, retained papal name, retained form of address “His Holiness,” retained the Apostolic Blessing.
Written evidence of the “impossibility” of truly stepping down: Last General Audience on 27 Feb 2013, and Abp. Ganswein’s speech at the Gregorian on 20 May 2016. HERE and HERE
Do you think he intended to remain papal IN ANY WAY? YES OR NO?

fatima.orgSt. Valentine – Priest, Martyr | The Fatima Center
VALENTINE was a holy priest in Rome, who, with St. Marius and his family, assisted the martyrs in the persecution under Claudius II. He was apprehended, and sent by the emperor to the prefect of Rome, who, on finding all his promises to make him renounce his faith ineffectual, commanded him to be beaten with clubs, and afterward to be beheaded, which was executed on the 14th of February, about the year 270. Pope Julius I, is said to have built a church near Ponte Mole to his memory, which for a long time gave name to the gate now called Porta del Popolo, formerly Porta Valentini. The greater part of his relics are now in the Church of St. Praxedes. To abolish the heathens’ lewd superstitious custom of boys ‘ drawing the names of girls, in honor of their goddess Februata Juno, on the 15th of this month, several zealous pastors substituted the names of Saints in billets given on this day.

While episcopal installations in Washington tend to draw a full house, McElroy’s arrival was especially well attended — more than 80 bishops, archbishops, and cardinals concelebrated. Dozens more came Tuesday than the last time such an event was held, when Cardinal Wilton Gregory was installed in 2019.
The crowd was about as catholic a representation as could be imagined, with bishops visible from nearly every state between McElroy’s previous posting in California and D.C. It’s a rare event that brings together bishops from New Mexico, Washington state, Illinois, and New York — indeed the March 11 liturgy felt better attended than many sessions of USCCB plenary meetings.
And it was clear that the bishops were happy to be there, the smiles were everywhere and evidently sincere; Cardinal Timothy Dolan affectionately bear-hugged Cardinal Blase Cupich in the processional line. https://www.pillarcatholic.com/p/have-the-us-bishops-united-behind
fidesetratio.usCatholic Charities Reported to DOJ for Alleged Trafficking of Illegals Under RICO Law. - Fides et Ratio | Reflections on life from a theological and rational perspective
A formal complaint has been filed with the US Department of Justice (DOJ) against Catholic Charities, accusing the organization of violating the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) through alleged involvement in facilitating illegal immigration.
The complaint, first brought to public attention by journalist Jack Posobiec via a post on X, claims that Catholic Charities, a prominent Catholic nonprofit and recipient of substantial federal funding, has engaged in activities that amount to trafficking undocumented immigrants across US borders.
The filing invokes RICO, a statute traditionally used to combat organized crime, alleging a pattern of racketeering activity tied to the organization’s immigration-related operations. https://gatewayhispanic.com/2025/03/catholic-charities-reported-to-the-doj/

I am a baby in the womb. I feel and hear my mother’s heart and warmth. I do not know her. But I share her blood. I do not know my father. But I share his life. I have nine months to learn whether I am wanted or unwanted by them and by all those politicians and clinicians. I hope my mother wants me. I hope my father wants me. I hope they want me. But I know God wants me. I am not an unwanted baby and never will be.
I am a child of God.
