Third certainty: After freely accepting, then freely choosing a name, the successor to Pius XII renounced his office half an hour later under duress! We can affirm this, given everything that has been written in previous posts. This forced renunciation of the Papacy has enormous consequences that we must now examine just as meticulously as we have examined everything that happened before. (Source: first comment)
Cardinal Víctor “Tucho” Fernández, a soft-porn author and the prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, criticized the Congregation’s Notification on the Works of Fr. Jon Sobrino, S.J. from 2006. At the time, the congregation was led by Cardinal William Levada. The notification was issued with the approval of Pope Benedict XVI. It declared that some of the Spanish Jesuit’s works contain “notable discrepancies with the faith of the Church.” On May 12, speaking at Pontifical Urban University, Tucho claimed that the notification “does not encourage the effort to take seriously the context in which theological reflection takes place.” He attacked the notification for declaring that theology rooted in “the context of the poor” was “inadequate and dangerous”. Tucho also criticized the idea that theology can begin only from ecclesial tradition without serious engagement with lived historical realities. In it any doctrine has been influenced by cultural influences, thus cannot be considered true. He is the intellectual engine driving the post Vat II chaos.

Worse than Germany: On 16 May, the social media account 'SG News' published a video showing a priest celebrating the Eucharist in shallow waters in Sri Lanka. The priest is wearing violet liturgical vestments. He and altar servers stand and walk in the water while the faithful gather in fishing boats.
Plinio Corrêa de Oliveira Folha de S.Paulo, on September 11, 1968 “I don’t like the motto of your society,” quipped Dona Cesarina* (see footnote), an acquaintance I had not seen in many years, as I met her by chance near the Conde Prates Building. Dona Cesarina is still a young grandmother who is always on the leading edge of all modernity. However, despite Dona Cesarina’s permanent effort to keep “up-to-date,” she still has something homey, peaceable and even conservative about her which is no doubt left over from other eras in which she lived. This image, incidentally, she deems inadequate to her public persona, and thus carefully tries to hide it. I took advantage of this likable “weak” side of my lively interlocutor to ask her, “Why don’t you like our motto? Does even the word ‘family’ displease you?” Caught off-guard, Dona Cesarina replied, “Well, I wouldn’t go that far. Let’s say that, in a pinch, ‘family’ is all right. It is even beautiful that you put it on your motto …વધારે
Pope Leo XIV is ultimately not against AI but aims to guide it toward the common good, writes Nico Spuntoni on LaNuovaBq.it (May 24). He has seen a preview of the encyclical ‘Magnifica Humanitas’ that will be published tomorrow. Leo XIV writes about a crossroads between self-sufficiency and solidarity. The pious-sounding solution Leo XIV offers to avert dehumanization through AI is "the mystery of the Incarnation". As did Leo XIII facing the social question of the 19th century, Leo XIV believes to offer an answer “to another industrial revolution and the developments in artificial intelligence, which pose new challenges for the defense of human dignity, justice, and work.” Leo XIV talks consistently with the overused word “discernment” to guide the actions in an age of widespread familiarity with artificial intelligence. The encyclical warns of danger of humanity gaining excessive power over itself and against moral irresponsibility resulting from overreliance on artificial intelligence. …વધારે

184 Reasons to Read Leo XIV’s First Encyclical with AI Summarisation: US publisher Ignatius Press is offering Monday's encyclical, 'Magnificent Humanity', for pre-order. At 184 pages long and given the Vatican's usual style of gibberish, the book has almost no chance of actually being read.
Today, Leo XIV has appointed Monsignor Cesare Di Pietro as the new bishop of the Diocese of Locri-Gerace in Calabria. Born in Messina on March 12, 1964, he was ordained a priest in 1997. He held several institutional Church roles, including secretary to Archbishop Marra of Messina, official at the Congregation for Bishops, rector of the Messina seminary, and professor of Church History. In 2018, Pope Francis appointed him auxiliary bishop of Messina. At his first press conference, he supported “a Church open as Pope Francis wants it”. In May 2019, he attended the Muslim Iftar dinner during Ramadan at the Islamic Center in Messina, and afterwards declared: "Today, we lived a beautiful moment united by fraternity." In summer 2023, he attended the Muslim Eid al-Fitr celebrations at the mosque in Messina. He told the congregation that he has come to celebrate the great feast, which recalls the sacrifice of Abraham our father in faith: “Here I feel at home”. In June 2024, the Muslim …વધારે

Pro-homosexual Archbishop Josef Grünwidl of Vienna - one of the many questionable appointments by Leo XIV - has confirmed that the controversial rector of St. Stephen's Cathedral, Rev Toni Faber, 64, will retire. The cathedral will receive new leadership in summer 2027. Society priest Faber has attended public dance festivals with a woman for years and has questioned celibacy. He has also supported same-sex blessings. In an interview with Austrian state radio ORF on Saturday, Archbishop Grünwidl claimed that his decision was mainly due to Rector Faber's long tenure. Archbishop Grünwidl noted that no one in the history of the Cathedral has held the post of rector for 30 years, describing Faber’s tenure as “a record”. However, the archbishop stressed that this does not mean that Rev. Faber will withdraw completely from pastoral work or leave St. Stephen’s Square. The Archbishop even praised Rev. Faber’s decades of service and emphasised their close personal relationship. “We were …વધારે
