Brazilian Bishop: Young People Have Right to Traditional Liturgy

Young people have the right to more traditional forms of liturgical experience, said Bishop Joel Portela Amado, 71, of Petrópolis, at a press conference of the Brazil Bishops in Aparecida, according to AciDigital.com.
A journalist asked about a possible “return” of the Mass in the Roman rite and spoke about “young people who kneel to receive Communion” and “wear veils”.
Bishop Joel replied it is important to consider broader trends, citing 2022 census data showing the highest number of people without religion is among those aged 19 to 39.
“It’s not that they don’t believe in God. They are ‘unchurched’ - they believe in God, but lack a concrete path within the Church,” he said.
Bishop Joel suggested this can lead young people to seek religious reference points, sometimes in past forms they did not grow up with.
For him, such “diversity” is legitimate: “Do they have the right to be like this? Yes, because Catholicism is plural by nature, especially in a deeply plural world,” he said. …Дукха

Bishop Joel suggested this can lead young people to seek religious reference points, sometimes in past forms they did not grow up with." No, actually, it's because they finally find the transcendent, the supernatural, the Divine, "the true, the good and the beautiful" in the Traditional Latin Mass, vs. the pure, horizontal humanism of the Novus Ordo. Grace operating in young, idealistic, fresh souls who want something more than what this world offers.

Through tall stained glass windows comes abundant but soft streams of light. This light is reflected everywhere: on the floor, the polished metal of the weapons and suits of armor, and the bronze and crystal of the immense candelabras. It even seems to touch with difficulty the ceiling ribbing and paintings overhead.
The strong yet elegant columns, with their coherent, distinct, and suave lines, open up like immense palm trees that protect the hall with their fronds of stone. The hall is strongly impregnated by a special ambience that invites one to repose without idleness or dissipation. Rather, it is a repose imbued with gravity, reflection, equilibrium and strength.
The armor and the stuffed deer enrich this ambience recalling the prowess of the hunt and the battlefield. The carved wood paneling with its elegance and warmth breaks the austerity which the stone alone perhaps would have had to the extreme. In the back on a pedestal …Дукха

Leo XIV Appoints Italian bishop: "Almost Everything Divides Me From Traditional Catholics"

Today, Leo XIV appointed Monsignor Michele Morandi as the new Bishop of Faenza-Modigliana, an Italian diocese with 130,000 Catholics and 80 parishes.
Born in Alfonsine, Italy, in 1976, he was ordained a priest in 2003 and has served as a parish priest, rector of the diocesan seminary and vicar general of the diocese.
Closed Seminary Is "Excellent Starting Point"
As rector of the seminary, he wrote in 2024 for the 70 anniversary of the large seminary building in Faenza. The seminarians now study in Bologna. The building is called the 'former seminary' and used as a library, a school, a workplace and an art space, and has become a "secular place".
For Monsignor Morandi, this was an "excellent starting point", as from that moment on, things were "no longer tainted by clerical and collegial imagery or clouded by a curtain of incense."
Identification with the Synodal Process
Monsignor Morandi took part in the Italian Church’s national synodal assembly in Rome. In a diocesan article from 2025…Дукха

Tribal Leader Issues Polygamy in Cathedral - Leo XIV Remains Silent But Catholics React

On April 16, during the visit of Pope Leo XIV to Bamenda, Cameroon, Fon Fru Asaah Angwafor IV, the tribal leader of the Mankon community, spoke about polygamy. He made the remarks during an interreligious peace meeting in the cathedral.
He is the hereditary "king" of the Mankon people and rules over culture and spiritual tradition. He presides over pagan rites, such as important funerals and ancestral ceremonies. During these events, he wears ceremonial attire alongside elders. He also identifies as 'Catholic'.
In his speech at the cathedral, the tribal leader stated that 'some cultural practices continue to pose challenges' and cited polygamy as an example.
He expressed gratitude that, within the framework of the 2023 and 2024 Synod, African bishops had been tasked with conducting a study on polygamy and its place in the life of the Church.
The tribal chief went on to say that adulterers in polygamous relationships should be able to fully integrate into the Church without being 'judged …Дукха

Multiplication of Loaves is Miracle of Sharing – Leo XIV

“The multiplication of the loaves and fishes occurred during the sharing; that is the miracle,” said Pope Leo XIV in his homily at the Japoma Stadium in Douala, Cameroon, on 17 April, which was attended by around 120,000 people.
He continued: ‘There is bread for everyone if it is given to everyone. There is bread for everyone if it is taken not with a snatching hand, but with a giving hand.”
Common heresy in the Francis era
Here, Leo XIV reflects an idea that Pope Francis has returned to several times: that the multiplication of the loaves is not about a supernatural increase in food, but a transformation of human hearts that leads to sharing.
During the Angelus on 26 July 2015, Francis said that 'the miracle does not consist in the multiplication itself, but in the sharing'.
At the Angelus on 29 July 2018, and in various weekday homilies at Santa Marta, Francis reiterated that the true sign is not a miracle, but a change in attitude; the crowd learns to share.
On 25 July 2021, Francis …Дукха

Greater Love Has No Man than This – That a Man Lay Down His Life for His Friends – Catholic Stand

Did not Christ demonstrate, even as His hour was arriving, the depths of love He possessed for those the Father had given Him? And, did He not always exhibit a love which surmounted all human wisdom and norms of the day?
In chapter 13 of the Gospel of John, not only is Christ aware of the hour, but also of the love He has for those He has chosen: “Before the feast of Passover, Jesus knew that his hour had come to pass from this world to the Father. He loved his own in the world and he loved them to the end.”[1]
In tractate 55 on the Gospel of John, St. Augustine considers the origin of the word Passover:
Pascha (passover) is not, as some think, a Greek noun, but a Hebrew: and yet there occurs in this noun a very suitable kind of accordance in the two languages. For inasmuch as the Greek word paschein means to suffer, therefore pascha has been supposed to mean suffering, as if the noun derived its name from His passion: but in its own language, that is, in Hebrew, pascha means passover …

Imam Invoces Allah During Meeting in Cathedral with Leo XIV:
On 16 April, Pope Leo XIV presided over an interreligious peace meeting inside St Joseph's Cathedral in Bamenda, Cameroon. El Hadj Mohammed Aboubakar, the chief imam of Buea, gave a speech on behalf of the Muslim community and greeted Leo XIV with the Islamic greeting, As-salāmu ʿalaykum, adding: "I greet you in the name of Allah, who is most compassionate, the most merciful".

Prevost Promotes the Muslim Invasion and Whitewashes the Threat of Islam

Leo XIV downplayed tensions with President Donald Trump on the flight to Luanda, Angola, today. “The talk that I gave at the prayer meeting for peace was prepared two weeks ago, well before the president ever commented. And yet it was looked at as if I was trying to debate again the president, which is not in my interest at all.” Leo XIV added that “much of what has been written since then has been more commentary on commentary, trying to interpret what has been said.”

“A certain narrative has spread, not entirely accurate, because of the political situation that arose when, on the first day of the journey, the President of the United States made some remarks about me. Much of what has been written since then has been little more than commentary upon commentary, in an attempt to interpret what was said. One example is the address delivered at the Prayer Meeting for Peace on 16 April. That address had been prepared two weeks earlier, well before the President commented on me and on the message of peace I am promoting. And yet it was interpreted as though I were trying to engage once again in debate with the President, which is not at all my interest. I come to Africa primarily as a pastor, as Head of the Catholic Church, to be with, to celebrate with, to encourage and to accompany all African Catholics.”

Pope's Brother: "When He Was 7, a Mom Said He’d Be the First American Pope"

John Prevost discussed in an April 17 interview with 'EWTN News In Depth' his life as the pope’s brother. Main points.
Loss of privacy: “I used to be able to leave the front door open. Now I’m hesitant because you don’t know who’s going to come to the door.”
Ordinary childhood: “Probably like anyone else’s—it was a mom and dad, three boys, school, homework, play, and repeat. It was just a normal life.”
Childhood memory: “One time we were building a shed in the backyard and Rob fell through the roof. It was just part of the wood was rotted, because we were using old doors from the house for the roof.”
Leo XIV’s early vocation: “We always knew that he wanted to be a priest. From a very young age, that was just always there.”
A “prophecy”: “When he was maybe in first or second grade, one of the moms across the street said, ‘You know, he’s going to be the first American Pope.’ We just kind of heard it and moved on.”
Still just brothers: “People say, ‘Who says no to the Pope?’ I …Дукха

WATCH: Mother Teresa told priest Communion on the hand was 'worst evil' she'd ever seen - LifeSite

Fri Apr 17, 2026 - 12:26 pm EDT
(
LifeSiteNews) — In a recent interview with Matt Fradd on his podcast Pints With Aquinas, Father John Perricone described how Mother Teresa had once told him that receiving the Holy Eucharist on the hand was the worst evil she had seen in her decades as a religious.
During the podcast, which first aired April 13, Perricone recalled having breakfast with Mother Teresa, who had attended his Mass on several occasions, and how he had asked the nun about the most evil thing she had seen in her work with the most vulnerable across the globe. The priest emphasized how, without hesitation, the sainted nun said, “Communion in the hand.”
“I remember once I said, ‘Mother, you’ve been in the worst areas, sectors of the world imaginable, and you’ve seen the greatest evils. Tell me, of all the things that you’ve seen, what can you tell me is the worst evil you’ve come across?” he recalled. “I suspected she was going to say abortion or euthanasia, (but) she looked …

Pope Leo Visits Muslim Jihadist Memorial to Killers of Christians

Imagine that Hamas had won on Oct 7 and the victims were Christians. That’s what happened in Algeria. Islamist and Marxist terrorists during the Algerian War waged a ruthless campaign against the non-Muslim population. Including Jews.
The atrocities by Muslim terrorists included the slitting of women’s throats and babies being murdered by having their heads smashed against walls. The massacres climaxed in the Oran Massacre in which De Gaulle’s corrupt regime refused to protect Christians and Jews from the Muslim mob.
The Catholic Church virtually disappeared in Algeria after the Islamic takeover. The
dead included martyred members of the church.
The memory of violence during Algeria’s civil conflict in the 1990s is central to the identity of the Catholic Church in the country. During that period, several clergy and women and men religious were killed, including monks murdered during the Tibhirine abbey massacre in 1996 and Bishop Pierre Claverie of Oran. Catholic monk Jean-Pierre …

How science is working ~ Revelations of Saint Bridget of Sweden, Book 1, Chapter 33 ~ Our Lord’s words of admonishment to the bride about true and false wisdom, and about how good angels aid the wise who are good while devils aid the wise who are evil.

Second, wisdom without human aid, for I myself teach them inwardly.
Third, they are full of the sweetness and divine love with which they defeat the devil.
But nowadays people study in a different way.
First, they want to be wise out of vainglory in order to be called good clerks and masterly scholars.
Second, they want to be wise in order to own and win riches.
Third, they want to be wise in order to win honors and privileges.
