How old is this, where is this, etc. ? I’m Portuguese ethnicity, American. My female ancestors wore head covering for self-preservation. Old photos from 20th century show the women still wearing head coverings. The mohameden invasion lingered that long in their memory. That’s my observation, not based on facts.
