With the rational and so traditional interpretation of Vatican Council II, cardinals, bishops and priests would be theologically honest. This would be ethical.
With the irrational interpretation of Vatican Council II, Pope Leo creates schism with the Church Fathers, the Apostles and the popes of the Middle Ages, and then tries to force this version of the Council upon the SSPX with the threat of being labeled schismatic. Oh yes, "Vatican II" is irrational indeed and on the verge of blasphemy at its worst parts e.g. Gaudium et Spes 12 & 22.

When we refer to the hermeneutic of continuity or discontinuity, it is important to refer to the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus(EENS) with exceptions or without exceptions. Since if Lumen Gentium 8, 14, 16 etc refer to visible cases then there is a discontinuity, with the dogma EENS of the Council of Florence 1442 etc, which did not mention any exceptions. But if LG 8, 14, 16, UR 3, NA 2, GS 22 etc refer to invisible cases there is a hermeneutic of continuity with EENS.
Similarly with reference to Tradition, we must ask, do we affirm an Athanasius Creed which has exceptions mentioned in Vatican Council II or no exceptions mentioned in the Council-text.
So when the SSPX says Vatican Council II has the hermeneutic of discontinuity and Cardinal Muller says it has one of continuity, this is vague. They must be specific. …Altro
