"The Church is increasingly oriented toward other objectives than the salvation of souls—objectives much more connected to this world." His critical error is applying full equivalence to "The Church" and the living Magisterium. "The Church" is Divine & Perfect and always will be. The prelates can, and sometimes are, incarnate devils(as were many Pharisees). Regardless, they occupy legitimate "Seats of Authority" (St. Matthew 23:1-3) and must be given honor and submission.
