In the oriental catholic church, we stay standing during mass, and the priest will kneel when comes the consecration. For them, only the priest kneels for Jesus kneels to God for the forgiveness of our evil so that mankind doesn't have to kneel anymore. Their rite is just as old as the roman catholic rite. Different symbolism because of a diverse spirituality. I'm not saying rails aren't important, they are because thats how the roman catholic occicental church spirituality evolved. I'm saying it's a problem when you make an absolute over everything else.
@Fra Yaram: "I'm saying it's a problem when you make an absolute over everything else." I'm much more comfortable with the Western tradition. The only problem was your absolutism concerning your perception of our so-called absolutism. Frankly, I tire of the incessant overly- sensitive posture of the East toward the West.
@Simon North Thats way i barely write on here, everything is perceive and interpreted like you know the intention of the person writting. For example, "my first comment over altars, you interpreted that i don't like altars". Never wrote that. Then "my comment on making an absolute over everything else" is interpreted as an attack on your so called "absolutism", it's a general statement. My intention was never to put in doubt your ideas. For you are more that your ideas but a son of God, brother in Christ. May God bless you ! and give you his peace in your heart.
