Tarcisio Kikuchi's latest remarks are consistent with his longstanding homosex activism. Tokyo Archdiocese has organised monthly homosexual Eucharists. In 2023, he contributed to the book LGBT and Christianity, promoted by the 'Catholic HIV/AIDS Desk'. Homosexual activists identified Cardinal Kikuchi as a -prelate when Francis named him a cardinal in 2024.
