Vatican CDF consultation in 2016 rejected Medjugorje as supernatural — yet Pope Francis later green-lit devotion anyway.

Vatican Rejected Medjugorje - Francis "Approved" it Anyway
On 6 August, Italian journalist David Murgia published the results of a confidential 2016 consultation within the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith concerning the alleged apparitions at Medjugorje on IlSegnoDiGiona.com.
Two Thirds of the Congregation said Medjugorje was NOT Supernatural
According to Murgia, 33 participants were asked to provide written opinions, or 'vota', on the Medjugorje phenomenon.
Murgia reports the following results (17 September 2016):
21 participants chose 'constat de non supernaturalitate' (not of supernatural origin).
9 participants chose 'constat de supernaturalitate' (supernatural origin).
3 chose 'non constat de supernaturalitate' (the supernatural character has not been established).
This corresponds to approximately 63.6 per cent for 'not supernatural', while only nine voted in favour.

@Luke Nutley Didn't Kajafas say that it was better that one man should die than the entire people? Sometimes false prophets say right things (nolens volens)

Encouraging people to return to the sacraments, Eucharistic adoration, prayer and fasting. Yup sounds like satanic deception to me. Mccallansteve I noticed that you capitalized satanic. Why do you give satan the honor?

V.R.S.

@frawley
Encouraging people to embrace falsehood. To mix truths with lies is a favorite Satan's tactics (cf. 2 Corinthians 11:14 for reference).

frawley

Please expound on the lies that the visionaries are spreading and your proof of them being lies.

V.R.S.

" Please expound on the lies that the visionaries are spreading"

I do not need to expound them. The local diocese did. Local bishops (Peric&Zanic) denounced them warning against treating alleged apparitions as true, before the lobby promoting Medjugorje cash cow took the matter to Vatican.
And the fruits are plentiful - fruits in life of false visionaries, fall and apostasy of Fr. Vlasic, US/CIA exploitation of false apparitions and so on.
Even Bergoglio had his moment of logical thinking saying that Our Lady is not a postman to deliver dozens of thousands of trivial messages nobody really needed.

@V.R.S. I did not think you would be able to give examples. The fact that Pope JohnPaul II took it out of their hands should tell you something about the local Bishops.

The return to the sacraments, Eucharistic adoration, prayer, etc. does not involve a compulsion to travel thousands of kilometres to the place of unapproved alleged visions. It consists in going to the nearest church/chapel with the true Mass.
PS Regarding Fr. Vlasić An interesting coincidence is that a month before the alleged apparitions began (June 1981), Fr. Vlasić participated in a meeting of "international leaders of the charismatic renewal" in Rome. On May 7, less than a week before the attack, John Paul II addressed them, calling, among other things, for "commitment to the serious task of ecumenism" (vatican.va/…_jp-ii_spe_19810507_rinnovamento-cari… and pointing to their "important work of renewal in the Church and of the Church," which he entrusted to "Our Lady and ours." During this Roman gathering, the "charismatic" nun Sister Briege McKenna allegedly had a vision of Father Vlasic surrounded by a crowd of people with streams of water gushing around him (Wayback MachineSunwin ☀️ Link Tải Game Bài, Tài Xỉu Sun Win … The "prophecy" that he was sending Mary to Father Vlasic was also delivered by the pseudo-charismatic Father Emilien Tardiff. To complete the above picture, it should be added that in Medjugorje and the surrounding area there was a struggle going on at that time between the local Franciscans and the diocese regarding the enforcement of the Vatican's decision (made under Paul VI in 1975) to transfer half of the parishes managed by the Franciscans to the diocese.

@V.R.S. Calling it a cash cow? Really! Would you say that about Lourdes or Fatima, both have far more hotels, resturants and gift shops then Medjugorje. I speak from first hand knowledge. I have been to all of them multiple times as well as many of the other major Marion apparition sites.

" I did not think you would be able to give examples"

But you think that Gospa is real. Both cases show that what you think or do not think has nothing to do with reality.
I prefer to trust Bishop Peric ("Considering everything this Curia has studied and investigated so far, including the first seven days of the alleged apparitions, we can safely conclude: Our Lady did not appear in Medjugorje! This is the truth to which we cling, believing in the word of the Lord that "The truth will set us free" (John 8:32)") than a Medjugorian sectarian.

frawley

@V.R.S. Still no examples. Hey I get that you hate Pope Francis and the changes after Vatican II. I am not crazy about them either. Please do not let them cloud your judgement. God is in control. Our Lady is consistant in all of her apparitions throughout history. Prayer, conversion and the sacraments.
